The equity and anti-racism legislation is being developed and they invite all Nova Scotians to give their feedback.
You belong provides details on what may be proposed in the legislation. The presentation indicates that the legislation could require municipalities to develop and implement plans to address systemic inequity and racism.
Council encourages all citizens and fellow Nova Scotians to take part in the discussion.

Join Oxford Town Council on Monday, January 24 at 6 pm. The meeting will be on zoom streamed live to Facebook.
As Council will be discussing Town business they will also be swearing-in our Deputy Fire Chief, Kyle Purdy. A large welcome goes out to Mr. Purdy for stepping up and volunteering to work with the Town of Oxford and the Oxford Volunteer Fire Department.

Oxford Residents/Businesses that reside in the Sunset Avenue area, there will be a water interruption around 10 am (January 19) for a few hours to fix a water break.

Town of Oxford ball field receives $15,000 from ACOA

Oxford - Create a second baseball field to accommodate the area's growing minor baseball program and provide space for other youth sports activities. $15,000 from ACOA
Oxford Arena awarded $92,733 from Rink Revitalization Program

The Town of Oxford and the Oxford Arena Association are pleased to announce that our arena has been selected as a recipient of the Rink Revitalization Program, hosted by the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture, Tourism and Heritage, in the amount of $92,733. The Project will help us to create an efficient, multi-use facility that will provide an inclusive space that our community will enjoy for years to come.
The projects supported by this funding include:
- Expansion and enhancement of the warm room to create a Community Room
- Zamboni room and water heater room upgrades
- Engine room equipment replacement and structural repair
- Building repairs and replacements (roof, doors, windows)
- Efficiency Project with the Arena Lovers and Building Automation System (BAS)
The project progress will be posted on the Town of Oxford and the Oxford Arena Facebook pages. The Town of Oxford and the Oxford Arena Association would like to thank everyone that volunteered and continues to volunteer with this important community project. The success of this project demonstrates that with community involvement we can achieve positive results.

For the safety of our workers, children, and the public please make sure sharps are disposed of properly.
Sharps NEVER belong in your garbage or recycling bag.
Sharps can be disposed of in sharps containers that can be picked up at your local pharmacy. When full, take the container back to the pharmacy for free disposal.
