Director of Public Works
We are excited to build organizational capacity and add a Director of Public Works to the Town of Oxford Team. We are looking for an exceptional leader who uses their experience with asset management and maintenance programs, to mentor and support a talented team. You will provide sound advice and recommendations to the CAO and Councils regarding all Public Works matters, with a focus on continuous improvement and implementing changes. You will supply administrative, operation, procurement and project management services for all municipal programs in wastewater, stormwater, roads, sidewalks, parks, recreations facilities, buildings and environmental services. There is considerable contact with employees, public and other levels of government.
As the ideal candidate, you will be a key member of the Town’s management team, thrive in a fast paced, dynamic operation and welcome challenges and opportunities. You can think and act strategically in a political and community service environment. Public Works Supervisor
The Public Works Supervisor is required to be a working supervisor – hands on with the Public Works Department.
Preferred candidates will be qualified in Class II Water Distribution & Water Treatment and Class I Wastewater Collection & Wastewater Treatment.
Candidates must have a high-school diploma, post-secondary education is an asset and demonstrated experience in the delivery of municipal services and management. In addition, possessing credentials in traffic control, WHMIS, heavy equipment certification, trenching, fall arrest, confined space, confined space rescue, and trained with using multi gas detectors would be an asset. Additional critical skills required are excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Crossing Guard
Employment Opportunity
Are you looking for a Part-Time/Seasonal Job?
The Town of Oxford is looking for a Crossing Guard for the crosswalk at the intersection of Main Street, Water Street, and Lower Main Street for before school, lunch, and afterschool hours - 3 hours / day. Wage is $18.50 / hour.
Duties and responsibilities include directing traffic and assisting pedestrians to cross the street safely. The successful candidate will also be responsible for maintaining a visible presence, observing traffic flow, and using good judgment to oversee the pedestrian safety.
